The Midwifery Department at the Mustapha Umar Mustapha College of Nursing Sciences offers comprehensive training in the art and science of midwifery. Our program combines theoretical knowledge, hands-on clinical practice, and a deep understanding of the physiological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
Through our rigorous curriculum, students gain expertise in managing low-risk pregnancies, conducting normal deliveries, providing postpartum care, and identifying and addressing potential complications. They learn to apply evidence-based midwifery practices, advocate for the rights and needs of women and newborns, and collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers to ensure the well-being of mothers and infants.
Our midwifery students benefit from state-of-the-art simulation labs, dedicated training facilities, and extensive clinical rotations in diverse birthing settings, including hospitals and community-based practices. Upon graduation, they are prepared to work as skilled and compassionate midwives, contributing to the advancement of maternal and child health in our communities.
The Mustapha Umar Mustapha College of Nursing Sciences is proud to offer these exceptional nursing and midwifery programs, dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare leaders who will shape the future of patient-centered care.
